Tim and Jane Rocke are members of the Bless Church in Normandie, and Jane is on our French Board. They moved with their family to France in 2005 and have established a business combining ‘Chambre D’Hote’ accommodation with language teaching. in 2016 they heard a clear call from God to expand this business – not for its own sake but to establish a wider ‘kingdom space’ through which God’s plans for France can be moved forward. As a result they have bought a property adjacent to the small town of Villedomer, not from from Tours. Over the coming two years this 100 acre site will be transformed into a camp-site and language school. Called ‘The English Village’, the site will enable them to offer not only camping holidays but also immersive language learning. Alongside the business a church will be planted, building a Christian community at the very heart of the new project.

The Rockes moved to France in response to a clear call from God, but they are business-builders rather than ‘traditional’ missionaries. Their goal is to create kingdom spaces where people are free to explore the possibilities of faith in the ‘secular’ settings of the everyday. They see the project not only as a business venture but as a vehicle for outreach, and a resource for God’s plans for France. Their property is on the St Jacques de Compostello pilgrimage route from Holland to France and is a perfect place to encourage pilgrims to break their journey.

Over the coming years Bless will be recruiting volunteers, and later employees, to staff this project and to support the church-plant emerging from it. Prayer teams will be visiting Villedomer from this year. Contact for more information.
