   Hi there

   I don’t know if you can help me. My step-daughter, her partner and two little boys, one 3 and one 2 years old, live about 15 minutes from Lisieux. They have been working in the area now for just over a year.

   They work very hard looking after a wonderful old house and lovely grounds. They only problem is that they are very lonely there. They do not have any English friends and desparately miss their families in England.

   I suggested they come to the church and perhaps join in a service but they are very apprehensive because neither of them are church goers and say they would feel they would be just taking advantage.

   I have told them that lots of people use the church when living in a new area to meet other English people and it would not be frowned upon.

   Are there any other clubs or organisations you can suggest where they would meet any young English people like themselves?

   Personally I am sure they would feel very much at home if they were to come to church. In our church in south west France we love it when a new family moves to the area. We ex-pats miss our families too and it is lovely to see some little ones in and out.

   Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
